Local Panda Tours

Close, not
crowded.

A small team based in Chengdu, working with reserve staff, keepers and drivers we have known for years. We plan panda travel the way we would plan it for a friend.

Why we started

Most panda trips are sold as a stop on a bigger coach tour: two hours at the Chengdu base, a photo, back on the bus. That is a fine way to see a panda. It is a poor way to understand one.

We build mornings instead. Arrive before opening, walk the far enclosures first, and leave as the coach groups arrive. Where a keeper programme is genuinely worth the money, we say so. Where it is not, we say that too.

Everything on this site is written from visits we have made ourselves, and checked against reserve and government sources before it is published.

Editorial

Verify, then publish

Ticket prices, opening hours and booking rules are checked against official sources before a page goes live, and revised when they change.

Guiding

Local, not scripted

Guides are based in Chengdu, Dujiangyan and Xi'an. Nobody reads from a script, and nobody earns commission on shops.

Animals

No handling, ever

We do not sell cub-holding, and we will tell you which photos on the internet were taken somewhere that no longer operates.
